Instead, we offer quick and easy tele-health, home visits, and easy, direct access to your provider by text and phone. When you call or text, your own provider will answer your call, saving you time and peace of mind. You will be seen in the comfort of your own home or at work or even between errands, and your quick questions will get a quick answer directly from your provider. You’ll never have to waste hours sitting in an uncomfortable waiting room again.

Appointments are available without a long wait, and even new patients can most often be seen within the week.

What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider? I strongly believe that an active partnership between patient and provider is the foundation for excellent primary care. After over ten years in hospital medicine, I transitioned to outpatient care several years ago with the goal of helping patients to become more active participants in their healthcare and, in doing so, avoid the unnecessary hospitalizations I had so often witnessed earlier in my career. Being accessible to my patients and active in their care are two of my top priorities as a primary care provider because they keep patients healthy - this relationship is key to preventative, whole-person care.

Why Coastal Care? How can you have no office? Several years ago, I was seeking a new Primary Care doctor for myself, and I was shocked by the long wait it would take for me to get a new-patient appointment. When the day of my intake appointment finally arrived, I found myself sitting for nearly two hours in an unappealing, dingy waiting room with pealing wallpaper and terrible tv, and by the time I finally saw the provider, I was frustrated and behind schedule for the day. I wondered what it might be like to start a practice that could meet people in their busy schedules, and decided to start Coastal Care.

My wife suffers from endometriosis, and her provider is based in Atlanta. As we sat together for an appointment with him one morning, I noticed that he had a happy smile, an easy laugh, seemed to know my wife well, and had his pup on his lap! The experience was so humanizing - I had been a bit skeptical about telemedicine before this, but saw how relaxed both patient and provider were in their home environments. I find my patients have a much easier time being open with me about their needs from a comfortable environment. If a patient needs lab work, this is always sent out anyway, and if there is something needing to be laid eyes on, a home visit is simple and really aids in building a strong partnership between the provider and patient. When my patients call or text, they know me and I know them.

In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs? Anything that helps my patients become healthier and live healthier lives keeps me passionate about healthcare. Everything from providing a diagnosis and helping them better understand their condition(s) to finding better treatment options and helping them to stay focused on their goals such as weight loss or quitting smoking brings me great joy. Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? In addition to my role as a healthcare provider, I am the proud father of five beautiful kids, who keep me busy doing a lot of the things I love. Our family loves camping in our Airstream, going to the beach near our home, watching movies (especially anything Disney), and we are all avid readers. I also play the guitar, and my wife and I are a folk duo (The Mosleys) who write songs and tour when we can. We love to play folk festivals with the kids along, and we can be found playing small listening room venues around the Southeast.
